Yet only ONE of these adapters works as a mobile hotspot in Windows. Nevertheless, only with one of these adapters the mobile hotspot works in Windows.Īnd, to make it even weirder, with ALL Alfa adapters, I can set up a hotspot in Kali Linux and also successfully connect to it from my tablet or smartphone. The only weird thing is that I have different USB adapters from Alfa here, which all have the same features in Kali Linux. It doesn't work with my wifi chip on the motherboard either. This one is even cheaper, costing ~$10 on eBay. I found a fourth USB adapter (apparently I collect these things), with which the hotspot also works.
